NCONL SUPPORTS:
- Autonomy and decision-making among RNs and implementation of models that support Quality Practice
- Effective staffing as stated in its Position Statement on staffing. Key elements to consider include skill mix, case mix, experience level of the professional nurse, resource and technology availability.
- A system approach to decrease medication errors and promote hand hygiene.
- Mandatory reporting on selected outcome measures to CMS and other regulatory/accreditation agencies.
- The development and enhancement of leadership skills for all nursing leaders in NC.
- Nurse executive involvement at governing body level of institution.
